The Big One is Almost Here!

Hey Splatoon fans, Nintendo of America has given more information on the BIG Splatoon update for August!

It looks like the big update that was announced just before the game’s launch is finally arriving next week.

The amount of content and enhancements that will be coming to Splatoon are phenomenal, and it is truly a wonderful time to pick up the game, if you are not among the more than 1M people who have done so already. Nintendo of Japan released a teaser trailer that showed off some of the new content, and GameXplain did an analysis video shown below.

With so much coming to the game, what are you looking most forward to? Do you anticipate a new main weapon in the bunch? How about new maps and gear? What about increasing your level beyond 20? Many people have maxed out at the cap of 20, and it has even surprised Nintendo and the Splatoon developers how quickly so many players reached the level cap.

When we were designing Splatoon, reaching level 20 was going to take quite a lot of time. Learning the game mechanics with the gyro sensor – we thought that would take a lot of time. In that sense we’re surprised that people have reached the level cap in such a short time. We’re actually really worried about those people – worried that they’re still sleeping and eating!

We are in for private lobbies that don’t require 8 players. It will also be possible to play 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3. In fact, or 1v2, 1v3 or 1v4 if you wanted. New map Urchin Underpass will be unavailable between Aug 3 and 5 as it’s being redesigned / remodelled. Continued support of what has proven to be an excellent game has made Splatoon the latest success story for the Wii U.

With the seeming onslaught of “bad news” surrounding my beloved Wii U, the bright spot has continually been the magnificent games that have come to the system! I look to the future with anticipation!

As always, gaming is meant to be fun, so keep gaming!!
