System Update 5.5.0 is Now LIVE!

Nintendo has released the newest system update for the Wii U this evening. This update sees the end of the Nintendo TVii service completely as the icon is removed from the available menus.

This update can be performed immediately for any systems connected to the internet. Details below:

Version 5.5.0 U, available via an Internet connection, includes the following improvements:

Changes to the Wii U Menu and HOME Menu:

  • The Nintendo TVii icon has been removed from the Wii U Menu and HOME Menu. For more information regarding the end of this service, click here.

Improvements to system stability and usability:

  • Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience

As this update seems to be primarily a stability update, aside from the removal of the TVii icons, there will likely not be additional info. However, if more details emerge, I will be sure to share any updates as they may come available!

As always, gaming is meant to be fun, so keep gaming!!
