This week in the Nindies Wednesdays spotlight we have a look at some new screenshots of the long-coming Oddworld: New & Tasty. In the current climate of non-1st Party titles on Wii U, delays can often be seen as pending cancellations, but with the constant reconfirmations and updates on games such as Oddworld: New & Tasty, we can rest assured that Oddworld Inhabitants is working just as hard as they said they were to get the game onto the system as quickly as possible.
In addition to the information above, we have also learned that Freedom Planet has unfortunately been delayed again on Wii U, as a few more wrinkles need to be ironed out. You may remember, GalaxyTrail intended to finally release the game tomorrow after finding a major flaw during final testing. It now looks as though there were a few more things discovered, as well.
We received some sad news today: Our patch for the Wii U version of Freedom Planet didn’t fix all of the freezing issues. In light of this, we are cancelling our launch for the time being. We’re only going to announce a release date after the game is fixed and free of all issues not present in the PC version.
Hang tight, though, as I am sure the game will be coming sooner than later.
Nintendo has also announced a Nindies@Night event to be held in the Seattle, Washington area to be held at the EMP Museum to celebrate Nindies on both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. This event will be free for fans in the area. Hopefully we will see more events like this in other locations, or even as a system-wide event, somehow, in the near future.
As always, gaming is meant to be fun, so keep gaming!!
