A Few New Details Emerge

Nintendo revealed a few new details on their upcoming hit Splatoon 2 over the weekend, and things are beginning to really move into high gear. Just about two years ago, Nintendo released a brand new franchise, Splatoon, and upon release, the game continued to receive ongoing updates for several months afterward. The newest iteration has been promised to be continually updated as well, but even before release, it looks like there will be quite a few new things going for it immediately at release, also.

One of the first new details to emerge is a new character in the game by the name of Murch. He is a boy who resembles the character Spyke from the original game, and it appears his function is much like that of Spyke, as well.

Another new detail is actually the introduction of another all-new stage for the game. During the recent Global Testfire, players were able to compete on two of the game’s new maps. Now, there is another new map that we are getting to see a little of in Humpback Pump Track.

So, with the coming weeks and months, I expect that Nintendo will be divulging more and more details leading up to the release of Splatoon 2 this Summer. Promotion is more than just running television commercials, and the company knows that well. They are taking the opportunity to capitalize on the momentum of their new system, the Nintendo Switch, and in doing so, they are advancing that same momentum to make it even stronger. The console is in a very strong position one month into its existence, and the promise of even more excellent games coming very soon to the Nintendo Switch makes it an even more appealing prospect for the rest of this year, and beyond!

Are you excited about the release of Splatoon 2? What else do you want to see come to the game when it is released, or soon afterward? Will you be picking up the game Day 1?

As always, gaming is meant to be fun, so keep gaming!!
